After completing his education in Kleinkunst at the Herman Teirlinck Institute in Antwerp in 2003, Louis van der Waal (1979) immediately entered the theater world. He has performed with Toneelhuis and Abattoir Fermé, among others, translated his own texts (Jachtkamp, Toneelhuis) and established a career in which he moves and unsettles audiences with equal ease. His roles in The Golden Boy (Theater Antigone) and the Crashtest Ibsen series with Sarah Moeremans made one thing clear: he is not afraid to explore, to challenge, and to immerse himself in a character.
Louis starred in Sarah Moeremans' Crashtest Ibsen series, written by Joachim Robbrecht. In addition to touring with Moeremans&Sons and the NNT, the series was performed at the Oerol summer festival for four years.
In addition to the stage, Louis regularly appears in films and series, from De Parelvissers and Code 37 to Het verhaal van Nederland and the feature film Patrick.
