Everyone is going mad in this world. Yes, you too. No one knows what is real and what is fiction anymore. Survival is more a matter of luck than the result of deliberate action. So we are all the foolish hero with good intentions, Don Quixote. Or are we?

How much madness can you get in one show? How many improbable events can you conjure up in your own head? In Not Quichot, six storytellers commemorate their good friend Q, but who was Q's best friend? Through powerful stories, they take you on their adventures with Q throughout Europe, through mountains, forests, past farmers' protests and burning libraries. 

No other duo than writer Joachim Robbrecht and director Sarah Moeremans can so classily drive a classic like Don Quixote into a wall in order to extract the strongest elements from the wreckage.

Director

Sarah Moeremans has been the artistic director of Het Zuidelijk Toneel since December 2023, but her connection with the company dates back to 2021, when she joined as a permanent director and co-artistic director. Her work is philosophical with a touch of satire, using language as its main building block. Since 2013, she has worked regularly with writer Joachim Robbrecht. At Het Zuidelijk Toneel, she has created, among other things, the audience favorite Shut Up and Play With Me (nominated for the VSCD Mime/Performance Prize), the theater experience What Ever Happened to Mr. Pete? and the absolute Oerol hit Rijgen.
