Het Zuidelijk Toneel is part of the basic infrastructure (BIS): a four-year government subsidy programme for cultural institutions that play an important role in the Dutch cultural landscape. Under this subsidy scheme, nine theatre companies (four large, four medium-sized and one Frisian-language) and thirteen youth companies across the Netherlands receive structural subsidies in the arts plan period 2025-2028.
