Keja has been part of the permanent ensemble of the Zuidelijk Toneel since January 1, 2025, but her relationship with Sarah Moeremans goes back many years.

Moeremans directed Keja's graduation performance Blue Remembered Hills, for which Keja received a Kemna Award for most promising actress. In recent years, Keja has starred in productions by Het Zuidelijk Toneel such as Reigen re-Erected, Mission Molière, the Oerol hit Reigen re-Erected, and Sieben, acht, heiße Nacht.

This season, Keja can be seen in Silence of the Dogs and Vondels Angels. Last season, she performed in Not Quichot, Byzantium and the highly acclaimed F*CK LOLITA, for which she won the Theo d'Or 2026 in the category Most impressive acting performance in a leading role.

Keja Klaasje Kwestro (1988) graduated in 2010 from the theater program at ArtEZ, Arnhem School of the Arts. Since then, she has built up a rich and varied theater oeuvre, with roles in productions by ITA, De Toneelmakerij, Frascati Productions, Het Nationale Theater, Ro Theater, and Toneelschuur Productions, among others.

For her role in the production De Troje Trilogie by Toneelschuur Producties, Keja was nominated for a Colombina Award for Best Female Supporting Role. And for her role in the family production De Gelaarsde Poes by Ro Theater, she was nominated for a Musical Award for Best Female Lead in a Major Musical.

You may know Keja from her roles in series such as AAP, Petticoat, Flikken Rotterdam and Suspicious Minds. She also appeared in the series De Mannen van Dokter Anne and A'dam-E.V.A.
