Silke van Kamp (Emmeloord, 1991) graduated from the Directing Program at the Maastricht Theater Academy in 2018 and is a theater and film director. This dual skill set enriches her work. In 2019, she was nominated for the BNG Bank Theater Prize with her graduation performance Chimo Zei Lila. Her next performance, ZUSJE, was again highly praised and was revived in 2020.

In addition to her work for Het Zuidelijk Toneel, Silke has directed performances at theatres such as Theater Bellevue and Frascati in recent years. She has also been affiliated with productions by companies such as Het Laagland, DIEHELEDING and LIPS&KNOBEL as a dramaturg.

Silke conveys current themes and taboos to her audience in a straightforward way. Through her work, she explores the relationship between the individual and the masses. She denounces social constructs and exposes social dynamics. Together with her actors, she brings to life recognisable characters. Her performances and direction of text are raw and intimate yet layered and infused with humour. They are musical, physical, abrasive and honest.
