Koen van Seuren (Almere, 1994) graduated from the directing program in Maastricht in 2020. After graduating, he founded the creative duo Antiklimax together with David Westera, where he is currently artistic director, director, and writer. The main characters in Antiklimax's performances are people who have become alienated from the world, always searching for stability, plot, and identity. Their texts are new texts; not re-enactments, but adaptations. They work with a unique kind of language, their own form of sincerity, and a distinctive style of acting.

Antiklimax is affiliated with the Grand Theatre and Station Noord, where they will be supported as young creators from 2021 onwards. At Antiklimax, Koen created the performances Peer Gynt and Hamlet vs Don Quixote, among others. Both are radical adaptations of the repertoire pieces of the same name. Koen is not the kind of director who takes you on a journey through psychological drama. His work is grotesque, humorous, multi-layered, and nothing less than theatrical fireworks. Paradox reigns supreme, ideas follow each other in rapid succession, and spittle regularly flies around your ears.
