Three weeks. Three premieres. Het Zuidelijk Toneel bursts out of the starting blocks with a full-on premiere triathlon and we’re going all in.
After the starting shot, we dive straight into Byzantium, which celebrates its Dutch premiere on Sunday, March 29 at the Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg. In restaurant Byzantium, everyone is chasing their own dream while the place slowly falls apart. A shrewd entrepreneur is already licking her lips because ovens are ovens, right? So why not turn it into a crematorium? In Mechelen it was a smash hit, selling out 16 times. Will you join us in the Netherlands? 👉 More info & tickets
There’s no time to catch our breath, because we pedal like mad straight on to Café Brabant. This brown café feels like a warm safety net: hanging out, chatting, one more round, and not having to be alone for a while. Creator Jessie L’Herminez gathered real Brabant stories, brought to life by professional actors, community performers, and a live band. Small warning: the premiere is already sold out. But the rest of the tour still has tables available! 👉 Check it out
And then, the final sprint. The last leg of the triathlon takes us to Mechelen for the premiere of Saved Game, written and directed by Peter Seynaeve. A raw, immersive solo about a mother who lost her son in an accident she caused herself. When she logs into his gaming account, the game becomes a place to escape and the boundary between pixel world and reality slowly crumbles. Life and levels intertwine, avatars merge with memories, and the line between real and virtual fades. 👉 Game on
Hopefully we’ll see you somewhere along the route — aka in the theatre — cheering us across the finish line. Check out the timetable and line-up below! 🏁
