What starts as a bad ventriloquist act develops into a hilarious dialogue about scrolling, short attention spans, brain rot, and what it means to be in the here and now. A loud and funny performance about the effort it takes to maintain control over your own attention.
A bad ventriloquist brings her parrot Brenda to the classroom. The latter struggles to keep his beak shut and keeps going on about the dwindling attention span of the audience. Understandably, as the talent of the ventriloquist does not inspire much confidence. She struggles through a vulnerable monologue while Brenda interrupts her with tips and tricks. Will she manage to keep the parrot quiet long enough to finish her story?
The performance lasts 90 minutes, including a workshop on attention and distraction. Shut your beak is suitable for vocational education + lower levels of pre-university and higher general secondary education, and can be performed multiple times in one day.
