Recognition, everyone craves it. However, what if that confirmation is lacking? What if your words go unheard, the music of your band doesn't resonate or your talent goes unnoticed? For artists, recognition is their sustenance, and thus Suze Milius zooms in on their habitat in the musical performance This will not end well.

During a special Exposure Night, we watch the noise band Distortion Klub rehearse in line with their credo: anything that makes a noise is an instrument. As their sound fills the room, one of the band members begins to film the rest and ask them questions. In the presence of the camera, their alter egos increasingly come forward and the boundary between personality and performance becomes more and more blurred.

Good to know: in this performance, Dutch and English are spoken alternately.

During this introduction, we introduce the world of This will not end well. With fun facts, juicy details, and insight snacks about the performance, the creators, and the actors. What drives director Suze Milius to dig so mercilessly into our hunger for recognition? Why do those tensions blend so well with the music of Annelinde Bruijs? And how do you get caught up in a story where everyone seems to be playing someone else?

Interactive introduction for the class

Are you going with your class to This will not end well? Then a good preparation is key! Besides the choice of a workshop, you could also choose to attend an introduction or hold an introduction in the classroom. During the interactive introduction, you will get to know HZT, the creators, the actors, and the story a little better. You will gain insights that the other audience members do not have, and you will understand or recognize the choices of the creators while watching. How nice is that!?

Practical information

The introduction is given at school on the day of the performance. The introduction lasts 60 minutes and costs €165,-. The maximum group size is 50 students. Combined with a workshop, you will have a great preparation!

In the workshop Do you see ME? you give your inner world an exterior and design a costume in which you enhance, distort, or exaggerate yourself. During this workshop, you will learn the art of character development and costume design.
