Recognition, everyone craves it. But what if it doesn’t come? Jealousy creeps in, vanity tightens its grip, insecurity gnaws away. For artists, recognition is their bread and butter, and thus Suze Milius zooms in on their habitat in the musical production This will not end well.

A group of artists is interviewed, but it turns out that one speaks the words of the other. In the intonation, the underlying tensions become audible. Welcome to the alienating mirror world of Suze Milius, featuring music by Annelinde Bruijs.

During this introduction, we introduce the world of This will not end well. With fun facts, juicy details, and insight snacks about the performance, creators and actors. What drives director Suze Milius to so ruthlessly dig into our hunger for recognition? Why do those tensions blend so well with the music of Annelinde Bruijs? And how do you get caught up in a story where everyone seems to play someone else?

Interactive introduction for the class

Are you attending This will not end well with your class? Good preparation is key! Besides choosing a workshop, you might also want to opt for an introduction or hold an introduction in the classroom. During the interactive introduction, you’ll get to know HZT, the creators, the actors, and the story a little better. You'll gain insights that the other audience members don’t have, and you’ll understand or recognize the creators' choices while watching. Isn't that great!?

Practical information

The introduction will be given at school on the day of the performance. The introduction lasts 60 minutes and costs €150,-. The maximum group size is 50 students. Combined with a workshop, you’ll have an excellent preparation!

At the workshop Do you see ME? you will give your inner world an outer appearance and design a costume in which you enlarge, distort or amplify yourself. During this workshop, you will learn the art of character development and costume design.

Practical information
  • Date: upon request
  • Location: at school, at Het Zuidelijk Toneel or another exciting location
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Suitable for: all levels of secondary education and vocational education
  • Cost: for schools in North Brabant - €175 per group, for schools elsewhere in the country – €200 per group (including travel costs)
  • Group size: maximum 25 students per group
