A girl walks home after her graduation party. Ready to discover the world, she gets lost in the neighborhood where she has lived her entire life. She doesn't recognize the streets, she has never seen the houses before. A man lies awake in the bedroom of a house that is far too big for him and his daughter...

... since his wife's death, he feels that time no longer flows evenly. He gets out of bed, puts on his slippers, walks into the garden, and looks up. Somewhere up there, an astronaut floats, lonelier than anyone else, drifting further and further away.

In 2016, Lowie van Oers wrote and performed the highly acclaimed solo TURING (Theaterkrant *****), a personal monologue about the famous mathematician Alan Turing and the love of thinking. Suze Milius directed the performance. With Over de natuur van de dingen - loosely inspired by Rerum Natura, the didactic poem about the philosopher of happiness Epicurus - they continue their collaboration.

Director

Director and writer Suze Milius creates colorful, vivid worlds that are both alienating and poetic and humorous. With her idiosyncratic visual and physical language, she emphasizes interpersonal behavior in its disarming awkwardness. Characteristic of her work is the way in which the everyday is placed in a surrealistic setting, revealing details that we often overlook in our daily routine.
