Enkidu created the performance Offline Tourists for Het Zuidelijk Toneel. He constructed a futuristic world in the year 2500: a timeline that runs parallel to our own world, where the emergence of AI and the “offline world” intersect.

Enkidu's work exudes accessibility: regardless of background or circumstances, he invites the audience to become part of the story. Expect a compelling experience in which bizarre connections emerge and the wildest stories come to life.

Belgian-Iraqi theater maker and performer Enkidu Khaled (Baghdad, 1985) studied theater at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad until 2006, where he began working in the film industry. In 2008, he was forced to leave Iraq due to the emerging war. He continued studying at the DAS Theater master's program in Amsterdam.

During his studies in Amsterdam, Enkidu created a unique method that allows anyone - child or adult, beginner or expert - to make theater. He presented this method in his solo performance Working Method, for which he received the Big in Belgium Award at the Edinburgh Festival. For his documentary theater piece Baghdad, he was awarded the prize for best acting performance at the MESS International Theater Festival Sarajevo in 2018. In one of his more recent works, Donja Hota, Enkidu explores the legacy of Egyptian feminist writer, activist, and doctor Nawal El Saad.

What makes storytelling in theater so unique for Enkidu is that the audience has the opportunity to touch the threads of gravity within the theatrical space. They influence the work, change the tone, and become co-creators.
