The tour of Nu is het nog rustig (8+) has kicked off!

Ready, set, GO! Last Friday, Nu is het nog rustig (8+) had its Dutch premiere at a nicely packed Theater aan de Parade in Den Bosch. The show had already premiered for Belgian audiences at hetpaleis in early October, but on 16 October we did it all over again (very quickly) for the Dutch tour.

What’s it about? It’s about us. About how we race through life, from app to diary to the next appointment. But not everything can be rushed. A budding romance, a looming disaster: there are slow forces at work that escape our control. Some offer hope, others not at all. And do we actually even notice them?

In Nu is het nog rustig, everything happens at once. The young audience watches adults racing through life, oblivious to what’s unfolding around them. A world gone mad, in which the question rings out ever more urgently: what role is there here for the children in the audience?

One visitor summed it up perfectly: “A mind-bender that I’d recommend to young and old alike.” We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.

This never-ending soap opera on fast forward, directed by Jetse Batelaan, went down a treat with the press, adults and children alike.

A selection of the reviews:

“Hilarious theatrical spectacle with a philosophical dimension.” – De Groene Amsterdammer

“Director Jetse Batelaan skilfully juggles the perspectives of adults and children.” – Theaterkrant

“A stunning display of theatrical intelligence. You’ve got to see it.” – Pzazz

“For those who do dare to take the time to endure mounting unease and painful silences, there is still plenty of hope.” – de Volkskrant

“Intense emotions go from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds, only to give way to something utterly banal. It’s like swiping through TikTok live.” – De Standaard

“Hilariously hyperkinetic!” – Etcetera

Nu is het nog rustig(8+) is touring the Netherlands and Belgium until 3 January. Will you be coming along?
